Mavericks Assign Beaubois, Jones to NBA D-League Affiliate Texas Legends

NEW YORK, Nov. 30, 2010 - The Dallas Mavericks have assigned guards Rodrigue Beaubois and Dominique Jones to the Texas Legends, the Mavericks' NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment marks the 10th and 11th times in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the first assignment for both players.
A second-year pro from Guadeloupe, Beaubois (6-0, 170) hasn't appeared in any regular-season games for Dallas this year, and will be inactive upon joining the Legends due to a fractured left foot. Last season, Beaubois saw action in 56 regular-season games, averaging 7.1 points and 1.4 rebounds in 12.5 minutes. After being selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round (25th overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft, Beaubois was acquired by Dallas in a draft-day trade.
Jones, a rookie out of South Florida, has played in nine regular-season games for Dallas. An early entry candidate for the 2010 NBA Draft, Jones (6-5, 215) was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round (25th overall), and was traded to Dallas in draft-day deal. In three years at South Florida, Jones averaged 18.9 points in 95 games, and his 705 total points in 2009-10 led the Big East Conference. Also, as a junior, Jones was the only player in the nation to average at least 21 points, six rebounds and three assists per game.
