USHL All-Rookie Teams Announced for 2022-23

The United States Hockey League (USHL) has announced its USHL All-Rookie Teams for the 2022-23 season.

League awards are voted on by each member club's General Manager after each club nominates their players for awards.

Selected to All-USHL Rookie First Team are forwards Mack Celebrini (Chicago), Mac Swanson (Fargo) and Ryan Conmy (Sioux City), defensemen Artyom Levshunov (Green Bay) and Will Felicio (Madison) along with goaltender Michael Hrabal (Omaha).

Mack Celebrini registered 46 goals and 40 assists for 86 points in his first year in the league. The Vancouver, B.C., native led the USHL in goals and points and topped the league with 21 power play goals and eight game-winning goals. Including a five-goal game vs. USA Hockey NTDP on Feb. 18, the Boston University commit recorded four hat tricks during the 2022-23 campaign.

Mac Swanson totalled 12-43- 55 in 57 games played in his first year in the USHL. The Anchorage, Alaska, native led all rookies in assists and ranked fifth overall in the league in assists. Committed to the University of North Dakota, Swanson racked up 20 points on the power play, which ranked third amongst all rookies.

Ryan Conmy, a University of New Hampshire commit who was ranked #112 in the NHL Central Scouting Final List, led Sioux City in scoring and ranked 14th in the league with 33-29- 62 in 60 games. The rookie forward from Alexandria, Va., ranked fourth in the league in goals.

Artyom Levshunov had 13-29- 42 and played in all 62 games as a rookie defenseman for Green Bay this year. A native of Zhlobin, Belarus, Levshunov ranked third amongst all USHL defensemen in goals, was second in power play goals with seven and third in shots on goal with 142.

Will Felicio had 4-24- 28 in 55 games played in his first year in the USHL. The Holden, Mass., native ranked second amongst rookie defensemen in scoring and his 28 points this year are the most-ever by a 16-year-old defenseman in the history of the USHL.

Michael Hrabal, a UMass commit who saw action in 31 games, completed the 2022-23 regular season with a 9-14-4-3 overall record, 2.86 goals against average and a .908 save percentage. The Prague, Czech Republic native was named USHL Goaltender of the Week once during the season.

Selected to USHL All-Rookie Second Team are forwards Sacha Boisvert (Muskegon), Trevor Connelly (Tri-City) and William Whitelaw (Youngstown), defensemen Ty Hanson (Sioux City) and Michael Hagens (Chicago).

Sacha Boisvert had 17-28- 45 in 57 games played on the season in ranking sixth amongst all rookie scorers. Boisvert, who hails from Trois Rivieres, P.Q., and is committed to the University of North Dakota, ranked third on Muskegon's scoring charts and his four game-winning goals tied for second-most by all USHL rookies.

Trevor Connelly racked up 24-23- 47 numbers on the season, seeing action in 57 games with Tri-City. The Tustin, Calif., native had a league-best 18-game point-scoring streak that ran from Feb. 10 to April 4 and during which he scored 15 goals and had 14 assists for 29 points.

William Whitelaw, a Rosemount, Minn., native ranked third in rookie scoring with 36-25- 61 in 62 games played. Committed to the University of Wisconsin, Whitelaw's 36 goals ranked second amongst all rookies as did his 12 power play goals. His three shorthanded goals tied for first and he led all rookies with 237 shots on goal.

Ty Hanson had four goals and 21 assists for 25 points in 55 games played in his rookie season with the Sioux City Musketeers. Hanson, a Hermantown, Minn., native who's committed to Minnesota Duluth, put 81 shots on goals and had a +4 rating. He was ranked #217 in by NHLSC in its final rankings.

Michael Hagens posted a 9-17- 26 line in 60 games played in his first year in the USHL. Hailing from Hauppauge, N.Y., and committed to Harvard, Hagens had one game-winning goal and 72 shots on goal this year.
