All-USHL Teams Announced for 2022-23

The United States Hockey League (USHL) has announced its All-USHL Teams for the 2022-23 season.

League awards are voted on by each member club's General Manager after each club nominates their players for awards.

Selected to All-USHL First Team are forwards Mack Celebrini (Chicago), Ryan Walsh (Cedar Rapids) and Cole Knuble (Fargo), defensemen Eric Pohlkamp (Cedar Rapids) and Joe Palodichuk (Fargo) along with goaltender Jacob Fowler (Youngstown).

Mack Celebrini registered 46 goals and 40 assists for 86 points in his first year in the league. The Vancouver, B.C., native led the USHL in goals and points and topped the league with 21 power play goals and eight game-winning goals. Including a five-goal game vs. USA Hockey NTDP on Feb. 18, the Boston University commit recorded four hat tricks during the 2022-23 campaign.

Ryan Walsh totalled 79 points on 30 goals and 49 assists in 61 games on the season. The Rochester, N.Y., native finished second in the league in points and assists while amassing the most power play points. Committed to Cornell, Walsh helped Cedar Rapids to a spot in the 2022-23 USHL Clark Cup Playoffs.

Cole Knuble registered 30 goals and 36 assists for 66 points in 57 games in helping Fargo to a 40-14-4-4 record as the USHL regular-season champions. Knuble, who was rated #105 in the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings, ranked ninth in league scoring, and was second in the league in shots on goal (216). The Grand Rapids, Mich., native was named MVP in helping lead the U.S. to Gold at the World Junior A Challenge in Ontario in December and played in the Biosteel All-America Game in January.

Eric Pohlkamp registered 16 goals and 35 assists for 51 points in 59 games in 2022-23. His point total tied for the league-lead for defensemen, his 16 goals ranked second and his 35 assists tied for third. The Brainerd, Minn., native led all USHL defensemen with nine power play goals, 18 power play assists and 27 power play points. He also had more shots on goal than any other defenseman in the league with 179.

Joe Palodichuk amassed eight goals and 21 assists for 29 points in 44 games in 2022-23. His three game-winning goals ranked second and his +31 rating tied for first amongst all USHL defensemen this season. The Cottage Grove, Minn., native was named USHL Defenseman of the Week twice in 2022-23 helping lead Fargo to a 40-14-4-4 record as the USHL regular-season champions.

Jacob Fowler finished the 2022-23 campaign with a 27-9-3-1 record, 2.28 goals against average and .921 save percentage. He led all USHL goaltenders in wins, goals against average and save percentage. He tied for the league-lead with five shutouts and his 1,029 saves ranked fifth. A six-time USHL Goaltender of the Week over the course of the season, the Melbourne, Fla., native is a Boston University commit.

Selected to All-USHL Second Team are forwards Jack Harvey (Chicago), Ryan St. Louis (Dubuque) and Mason Marcellus (Lincoln), defensemen Max Burkholder (Dubuque) and Aaron Pionk (Waterloo) and goaltender Matej Marinov (Fargo).

Jack Harvey had 40-34- 74 in 62 games to rank second in the USHL in goals and fourth in points. Named USHL Forward of the Week once this year, the Stacy, Minn., native has put up 75-65- 140 numbers in 174 career games with the Steel and received a #146 ranking in the NHL Central Scouting Final List.

Ryan St. Louis had 30-42- 72 in 58 games this year in tying for fifth in league scoring. The Burlington, Vt., native ranked third in the league with a .25.6 shooting percentage, was named USHL Forward of the Week once this year and is committed to Brown University.

Mason Marcellus racked up 19-49--68 in 58 games to rank seventh in the USHL in scoring. The Greely, Ont., native tied for the league lead in assists and power play assists (25). Committed to Quinnipiac, Marcellus helped lead Lincoln to third-place finish in the Western Conference standings and a berth in the 2022-23 Clark Cup Playoffs.

Max Burkholder tied for the league-lead in scoring by defensemen with 17-34- 51 in 62 games on the season. The Chaska, Minn., native's 17 goals were the most by a USHL defensemen this year and his 139 shots on goal ranked fourth. Named USHL Defenseman of the Week twice during the season, Burkholder is committed to Colorado College.

Aaron Pionk tied for 10th in defensemen scoring in the USHL this season with 12-24- 36. His 12 goals tied for fourth and his 138 shots on goal ranked fifth amongst league defensemen, A Hermantown, Minn., native, Pionk was named USHL Defenseman of the Week once this year. Committed to play college hockey at Minnesota State, Pionk was rated #117 in the final NHL Central Scouting Bureau rankings.

Matej Marinov had a 21-4-2-2 record to go along with 2.36 goals against average and a .917 save percentage. Named USHL Goaltender of the Week four times in 2022-23, Matej ranked second in the league in goals against average and third in save percentage.

Selected to All-USHL Third Team are forwards Ryan Comny (Sioux City), Garrett Schifsky (Waterloo) and Nick Moldenauer (Chicago), defensemen Artyom Levshunov (Green Bay) and Boston Buckberger (Lincoln) and goaltender Cameron Whitehead (Lincoln).

Ryan Conmy, a University of New Hampshire commit who was ranked #112 in the NHL Central Scouting Final List, led Sioux City in scoring and ranked 14th in the league with 33-29- 62 in 60 games. The rookie forward from Alexandria, Va., ranked fourth in the league in goals.

Garrett Schifsky had 28 goals and 24 assists for 52 points in 57 games in helping lead Waterloo to a second-place finish in the Western Conference regular-season standings. Committed to Michigan, the Andover, Minn., native ranked second in the league with a +33 rating.

Nick Moldenauer racked up 30 goals and had 45 assists in ranking third in scoring in the USHL with 75 points in 55 games played. The Mississauga, Ont., native who's committed to Michigan, ranked third in the league in assists and his points per game total (1.36) ranked fifth.

Artyom Levshunov had 13-29- 42 and played in all 62 games as a rookie defenseman for Green Bay this year. A native of Zhlobin, Belarus, Levshunov ranked third amongst all USHL defensemen in goals, was second in power play goals with seven and third in shots on goal with 142.

Boston Buckberger, who had 9-36- 45 in tying for third in scoring by defensemen in the league, ranked second in USHL defensemen in assists on the season. Named USHL Defenseman of the Week twice during 2022-23, the Saskatoon, Sask., native will play college hockey at Denver.

Cameron Whitehead finished the 2022-23 regular season with a 25-15-2-4 record, 2.83 goals against average and .904 save percentage. The Orleans, Ont., native tied for the league lead with five shutouts, ranked second in the league in wins, tied for the league lead in games played, finished second in minutes played and was fourth in saves (1099). The Northeastern commit was named USHL Goaltender of the Week three times this year.
