Green Bay Blizzard News Release

GREEN BAY, Wis. (April 12, 2007) - The Green Bay Blizzard kicked off its new season with the unveiling of a new playing field name and logo at the 50-yard line at the Resch Center. Blizzard management, players, cheerleaders and U.S. Cellular executives and associates flanked Mayor Jim Schmitt during the celebration as he unveiled the new name and logo, "U.S. Cellular Field at the Resch Center," Thursday morning in a special ceremony that announced U.S. Cellular's sponsorship of the team.

Mayor Jim Schmitt said: "On behalf of the City of Green Bay, I would like to extend a special 'thank you' to U.S. Cellular for its sponsorship of the Green Bay Blizzard Football organization. U.S. Cellular understands that through sponsorships such as this one, it is able to help offer affordable entertainment to the community."

U.S. Cellular's Director of Marketing John Heimsch discussed how U.S. Cellular is also able to connect with its communities through sponsorships like the Blizzard's. "It is with great pleasure that U.S. Cellular is able to sponsor the U.S. Cellular Field at the Resch Center. We know that U.S. Cellular Field will be visited by numerous families throughout the region. By sponsoring the Field, it is a way that U.S. Cellular can say 'thank you' to all the customers that it provides service to. It is a great way to stay connected to the community."

It is companies like U.S. Cellular that help offset the cost of running a team, said Blizzard Owner Brian Noble. "Without such support, we wouldn't be able to offer our reasonable prices on tickets. U.S. Cellular is also the sponsor of our Bruiser reading program.... We believe we have a responsibility to be more than just an entertainment option. U.S. Cellular shares in this commitment to giving back to the community."

Noble elaborated on the Blizzard's Bruiser reading program. "We're excited to tell you that 54 schools this year have participated in (the Bruiser) program, which encourages children to read more. We will have a special celebration during the half-time of our May 18th game, to celebrate the schools that have read the most minutes. We have asked U.S. Cellular to participate in this celebration with us."

U.S. Cellular's sponsorship commitment extends throughout the 26 states in which it operates. Locally, the company is also sponsor of the Timber Rattlers, the Fox Cities Marathon, and Country USA. In other parts of the state, U.S. Cellular sponsors Summerfest, Festa Italiana, Wisconsin State Fair, U.S. Cellular Kenosha Days of Discovery, Milwaukee Admirals, Madison Mallards baseball, La Crosse Loggers baseball.

U.S. Cellular is the nation's sixth-largest wireless service carrier, serving 5.8 million customers in 26 states. The Chicago-based company operates on a customer satisfaction strategy, meeting customer needs by providing a comprehensive range of wireless products and services, superior customer support and a high-quality network.
