Copperheads and Battle Wings Honor Robinson

HOUSTON - The Grambling State University Marching Band will perform at Saturday's Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings' game with the Texas Copperheads at the CenturyTel Center.

The Grambling band will perform the national anthem in pre-games festivities that will begin at 6:30 p.m. and then conduct a special halftime marching routine.

The Grambling band will join the BattleWings and Copperheads at halftime for a special salute to the late Coach Eddie Robinson.

Copperheads Defensive Coordinator and former Grambling player under Eddie Robinson, Troy Esprit, said "The college football world mourned the day Coach Robinson passed away; he was a great person on and off the field. He was a heck of a guy."

The arenafootballleague2 Texas Copperheads play all home games at the 8,239 seat Berry Center (www.berrycenter.net) in Northwest Houston. The Copperheads kick off the 2007 season on Friday, April 6th against the Florida Firecats.
