Urquhart Awarded CHL Performance Of The Week

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, today announced that Arizona forward Cory Urquhart has been voted by fans as the winner of the CHL's Performance of the Week for his individual game effort in a 7-2 victory over Amarillo at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley on March 14. Urquhart unloaded for four goals in the contest, becoming the first player in Sundogs' franchise history and the fourth player in the CHL this season to do so.

Urquhart received 3,217 of 4,180 total votes in winning the weekly award and will now be automatically considered for the 2007-08 CHL Performance of the Year which will be announced in April, 2008.

Urquhart was assigned to the Sundogs by NHL parent club the Phoenix Coyotes on Feb. 20 and immediately had an impact. In 16 regular season games, the Halifax, Nova Scotia, native gathered 20 goals and 13 assists and was a plus-8. The 23-year-old closed out the regular season with a ten-game point streak, including matching a CHL season-best ten-game goal scoring streak.
