
United team-up with NBC 4 Health & Fitness Expo

Washington, D.C. (January 9, 2009) - D.C. United today announced plans to participate in the NBC 4 Health & Fitness Expo. D.C. United, together with Women's Professional Soccer team the Washington Freedom, will host skills contests and give away prizes at the event, which will feature diverse health and fitness demonstrations and attractions. The Health and Fitness Expo will be held at the Washington Convention Center on January 10-11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
A 30' x 50' soccer field will be set up on the show floor where the D.C. United Academy's U16 and U18 teams will hold a special practice session. Additionally, United's Devon McTavish will hold an autograph session from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while defender Marc Burch will sign autographs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m on Sunday. Admission is free to the public and portions of the event will be broadcast live on NBC 4.
