
United Remain Unbeaten at Home Thanks to Frater's Last Second Heroics

(ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico) New Mexico United remains unbeaten at Isotopes Park, as they drew with Portland Timbers 2, 3:3. A stoppage time equalizer from Kevaughn Frater, which completed his hat trick, sent the nearly 13,000 fans at Isotopes Park into a frenzy.
In the 50th minute, Frater netted his first. Chris Wehan and Manny Padilla were both credited with the assist. Just four minutes later, the referee awarded New Mexico United a penalty. Frater coolly tucked it into the bottom left corner.
Timbers 2 refused to surrender. Eryk Williamson notched a 66th minute goal off of an assist from Christian Ojeda. In the 68th, a tricky ball ricocheted off of Ryan Sierakowski, and snuck past the unsuspecting Cody Mizell. Things seemed to take a devastating turn after the referee awarded Portland a penalty in the 77th minute. Williamson placed it in the bottom left hand corner, to give the visitors a 2:3 lead.
New Mexico United upped the intensity in the final 15 minutes of the match, but could not find the equalizer until a flurry of activity and confusion in the box set up a sitter for Frater, which he smashed into the back of the net. 12, 921 NM United fans went crazy.
Up next for New Mexico United is a May 5th home match against San Antonio FC.

Frater had 2 key passes, and was instrumental in New Mexico United's high press. Scoring a third goal in the dying minutes of the game cemented the honor for the Jamaican.
