Tampa Bay Rowdies News Release

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (April 26, 2019) -- The Rowdies sit atop the Eastern Conference heading into a busy weekend.

Here are a few of the biggest matches happening in the Eastern Conference this weekend.

Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. Charlotte Independence

Saturday, 7:30 p.m. | ESPN+

The Rowdies return home following a 4-1 road win over Atlanta United 2 on Wednesday night. Leo Fernandes, Juan Tejada and Brandon Allen were all on target in the win (plus an own goal forced by David Najem) as the Rowdies moved to first place.

Charlotte has struggled out of the gates this year, losing five of its first seven games this season and winning just once. The Independence has always matched up well against the Rowdies though.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds vs. Nashville SC

Saturday, 7 p.m | ESPN+

Pittsburgh sits below the playoff line despite losing just once all season, a 2-0 loss to the Rowdies more than a month ago.

Nashville lost in Charleston last weekend and faces another difficult road test as it attempts to move out of the middle of the pack. Nashville sits in seventh place with 10 points.

New York Red Bulls II vs. Indy Eleven

Sunday, 5 p.m. | ESPN+

New York and Indy are both within touching distance of the Rowdies and both have a game in hand. Luckily for Tampa Bay, at least one of these teams will drop points this weekend. The Red Bulls suffered a shocking 3-1 home loss to Loudoun United last weekend.

Indy faces a difficult road trip before hosting the Rowdies next Wednesday night on one day shorter rest than Tampa Bay. The Eleven has won four straight matches since an opening day defeat in Saint Louis.
