D.C. United News Release
Washington, D.C. (August 8, 2007) - D.C. United announced today detailed plans to collect toys prior to United's two home matches during the month of August to benefit the Children's National Medical Center and The Children's Center. Both Centers will be provided with new toys to donate to children in the metropolitan area. Fans who donate an item will receive a "Buy One, Get One Free" ticket voucher, valid for select 2007 D.C. United regular season home games and a D.C. United promotional item. D.C. United hosts the Los Angeles Galaxy August 9th at RFK Stadium and the New York Red Bulls on August 22nd.
"The United Drives initiative has become increasingly successful through the years," said United Manager of Community Relations Aprile Pritchet. "We are proud to continue to work alongside the Children's National Medical Center and The Children's Center to support so many in need."
United Drives donations are accepted at every D.C. United Major League Soccer regular season home game at RFK Stadium. The collection bin is located outside Gate A and is open from two hours prior to the game until 15 minutes after kick-off. Donations are also accepted in the D.C.
