Union travel to San Jose for second consecutive game on the road

Chester, Pa. (July 5, 2011) - Atop of the Eastern Conference, Philadelphia Union (7-4-6, 27 points) travel west to face the San Jose Earthquakes (5-5-6, 21 points) on Saturday, July 9 at 10:30 p.m. EST. The match at Buck Shaw Stadium will be broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet, with a 30-minute pregame show starting at 10:00 p.m. EST.

Both the Union and the 'Quakes will get back on the pitch having collected a 2-2 draw against D.C. United and New York Red Bulls, respectively, in their last Major League Soccer matches. Carlos Ruiz tied the game for the Union in the 84th minute, finishing with his left foot a pushed cross to the top of the six yard box by D.C.'s defender Chris Pontius.

Coach Brendan Burke took the Union Reserves back to action falling to D.C.'s akin 4-1 on Sunday, July 3. Philadelphia's Reserves (1-2-1, 4 points) will now face New England Revolution when the team travels north on July 18.
