Union return home to host Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday

Chester, Pa. (March 26, 2012) - After suffering a tough 1-0 loss in Chicago on Saturday night, Philadelphia Union look to bounce back when they host the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, March 31 at 4:00 p.m. EST on 6abc. The Union are 1-1 all-time against the Whitecaps and 1-0 at PPL Park, having defeated Vancouver, 1-0, on March 26, 2011.

Freddy Adu, Amobi Okugo, Sheanon Williams and the U-23 U.S. Men's National Team continue their quest for Olympic qualifying today, when the squad faces off against El Salvador at 9:00 p.m. EST. The squad holds their destiny in their own hands, as a victory against El Salvador would guarantee a spot in the tournament semifinals. The U.S. could also advance to the semifinals with a draw against El Salvador if Canada loses against Cuba. The top two teams from Group A and B advance to the semifinals in Kansas City which will be played on March 31 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan. The semifinal winners will join the 16-team field for the 2012 London Olympics. Midfielder Zach Pfeffer was also called up by the U-18 U.S. Men's National Team for training camp this weekend, the Union announced on Friday. Pfeffer and Union Academy members Zack Steffen and defender Miguel Alves will be training at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. from March 25-April 1.
