U.S. Soccer Awards Jordan Morris U-17/18 Development Academy Player of the Year

RENTON, Wash. - U.S. Soccer named Sounders FC Academy forward Jordan Morris the U-17/18 Development Academy Player of the Year.

Morris, 18, earned Player of the Year honors after scoring 27 goals in 28 regular-season games for the Sounders FC Academy. He most recently helped the team advance to its first-ever Academy Finals Week from July 14-20 in Houston.

Morris was named the 2012 Gatorade Washington State Player of the Year and has committed to Stanford University. He earned his first call-up with the U.S. U-20 National Team for the Toulon Tournament from May 28-June 8.

In addition, Sounders FC Academy goalkeeper Connor Adkisson earned U-17/18 West Conference Starting XI honors.

Development Academy players and coaches have received postseason recognition since the Academy's inaugural 2007-08 season, and the End of Year awards are voted upon by U.S. Soccer Technical Advisors.
