Four Real Salt Lake players will be available for selection in Saturday's twin-bill, with MF Kyle Beckerman, DF Tony Beltran and GK Nick Rimando suiting up for the U.S. and FW Alvaro Saborio captaining Costa Rica. Beckerman, Rimando and Saborio saw action in their sides' Gold Cup Group C openers in Portland on Tuesday night, with Rimando going the full 90 and Beckerman starting and registering an assist in 45 minutes in the U.S.'s 6-1 win over Belize and Saborio starting and playing 79 minutes in Costa Rica's 3-0 win over Cuba.

REAL SALT LAKE TO GO ON THE ROAD WITH A SATURDAY MATCH AGAINST DALLAS

Real Salt Lake (10-5-4, 34 points, West #1) will be on the road Saturday night, when it will take on FC Dallas (8-4-1, 31 points, West #2) at 7:00 p.m. MT at FC Dallas Stadium.

Saturday's match will be broadcast live on CW30, ESPN700 and 102.3 La Gran D FM/1600 AM. CW30 will air the 30-minute Ford Postgame Show immediately after the match; ESPN700 will air a hour-long pregame show before the game and will broadcast a hour-long postgame following the contest.

RSL is 8-12-3 in MLS regular season matches against FC Dallas. The Claret-and-Cobalt has struggled at Dallas, going 0-8-2 in Big D in MLS play and 0-10-2 in Dallas across all competitions. The Utah side has played FCD once this year, losing 0-2 to the Hoops at FC Dallas Stadium on March 23.

REAL SALT LAKE STAYS ATOP THE LEAGUE STANDINGS AFTER WEEKEND RESULTS

Real Salt Lake got the results it needed this weekend to stay in first place in the Supporters' Shield race. FC Dallas lost 2-0 against the LA Galaxy in Southern California and the Montreal Impact tied Chivas USA 1-1 in Canada, leaving both squads two points behind RSL with 31 points on the year.

RSL drew its last match, tying the Philadelphia Union 2-2 last Wednesday, July 3. The Utah side, reduced to 10 men in the 59th minute after a red card sent DF Lovel Palmer to the dressing room, scored a 97th minute penalty kick goal from MF Javier Morales to earn a draw in front of a sold-out crowd. Salt Lake fell behind 1-0 early in the 13th minute. The Claret-and-Cobalt equalized in the 75th minute with a Luis Gil header off of a corner kick before conceding another Philadelphia score only seconds later. The result was RSL's first come-from-behind tie since a March 16 1-1 draw against the Colorado Rapids at Rio Tinto Stadium.

RSL CONTINUES TO BE THE HOTTEST TEAM IN MLS

Real Salt Lake extended its hot streak with the result against Philadelphia, moving its unbeaten run to 10 games in all competitions. Since an April 27 home 0-2 loss to LA, RSL has posted a 10-1-2 mark in all competitions, outscoring opponents 33-13. In that run, RSL has cruised to the top of the MLS Western Conference table, while posting the second-best points-per-game average at 1.83, only behind Montreal's 1.93 and ahead of the 1.76 by Portland and Dallas.

The Claret-and-Cobalt can credit its rise to the top to an unbeaten June. RSL went 6-0-0 in MLS and US Open Cup play last month, outscoring opponents 17-3. The month also saw the club reach the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Semifinals with a 3-0 win against the Carolina RailHawks in the tournament's Quarterfinals on June 26. The Utah side will face the Portland Timbers in the Semis on Aug. 7. Tickets for the match are on sale now at the Rio Tinto Stadium box office, online at www.RioTintoStadium.com/events/open-cup.php or over the phone at 801-727-2700.

RSL-ARIZONA ACADEMY ADVANCES TO FINALS WEEK; ACADEMY SNAGS MULTIPLE END-OF-YEAR HONORS

The Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy U-16's is one of eight teams in its age group that will begin play at the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy Finals Week in Houston on this Sunday, July 14. The RSL-AZ U-16's advanced to Finals Week after winning its group at the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy Playoffs last month. The U-18's qualified for the Academy Playoffs, but did not advance to Finals Week.

Both the U-16's and U-18's saw two players named to U.S. Soccer's West Conference end-of-year Starting XI's, with Justen Glad and Jose Hernandez earning spots on the U-15/U-16 squad and Ive Burnett and Coco Navarro getting named to the U-17/U-18 squad.

RSL-AZ also picked up an academy wide honor, earning the Style of Play award for the West Conference. Awarded by U.S. Soccer, the style of play award is based on technical scouting throughout the season that evaluates and grades the following areas: offense, defense, quick transition and finishing, tactics (playing out of the back), technical, physical and psychosocial.
