Tyler Maxwell Scores Lone Silvertip Goal, as Everett Falls To Tri-City 2-1

Kennewick, WA - The Everett Silvertips couldn't stop the Tri-City Americans for the second game in a row, losing on the road Wednesday night 2-1. Tyler Maxwell had the only goal on the night for Everett, pushing up his point total to 21 on the season (11G, 10A). Shayne Barrie was very strong in goal for the Silvertips making 37 saves in the loss.

This brings the 'Tips record to 13-10-3-0 with 29 points in 26 games played standing seven points behind second place Spokane Chiefs in the U.S. Division. The Silvertips are now 5-3-2-0 in their last 10 games. The Silvertips come back to the Comcast Arena on Friday night November 28th for a 7:35 game against the Portland Winter Hawks.

Everett came out hard in the first 20 minutes of the hockey game opening up many scoring chances. Daniel Bartek was robbed after a puck squirted loose to a seemingly empty net, Americans goaltender Drew Owsley slid from his right to his left getting the puck with his glove and making a huge save to keep the game scoreless. Americans forward Tyler Procyshen got his 11th goal of the season on the power play at 19:47 giving Tri-City a 1-0 lead to end the first period. Procyschen scored after firing the puck from the left circle and beating Barrie up high after getting a piece of the puck with his shoulder.

Everett would get outshot 21-5 in the second period and would stay a close game thanks in part to some great goaltending from Barrie. Tri-City would increase its lead after Procyschen scored his second goal of the night at 10:50 of the second. Adam Hughesman fed a quick pass through two Everett defenders back door to Procyschen who would then cradle the puck to fire the puck past Barrie. Chris de la Lande saved a sure fire goal for Tri-City after a Barrie save started to trickle toward the back of the net. De la Lane sprinted to the goal line saving a goal and keeping the game 2-0.

Everett's loan goal came in the third period after Kellan Tochkin made a wonderful pass to the slot to Byron Froese who then faked Owsley dropping the pass to Maxwell who put home his 11th on the year. It wouldn't be enough though as Everett got outshot 39-14 losing to the Americans 2-1

The Silvertips come back to Comcast Arena Saturda y, November 28th at 7:35 pm to take on U.S. Division rival Portland Winter Hawks.
