Two-way standouts named to af2 All-Ironman team

CHICAGO - The Boise Burn led all teams with two players placed on the 2009 af2 All-Ironman Team, the league office announced today. Overall, players from 10 different af2 clubs are represented on this special squad consisting of the league's top two-way players.

WR/DB JOMO WILSON and WR/KR TERRANCE SANDERS are the two players representing Boise on this year's all-Ironman roster. Wilson, who also appeared on last year's inaugural all-Ironman team, was an impact player on offense, defense and special teams. On offense, the Eastern Oregon alum led the Burn in receiving with 92 catches for 1,032 yards and 22 touchdowns. Defensively, Wilson tallied 13.5 tackles, four interceptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery. He also returned kicks for Boise and had three kickoff return touchdowns on the year. He led Boise in all-purpose yards (1,966), total touchdowns (27) and scoring (164).

Sanders was also a big part in the Burn's success this season. On the defensive side, the Eastern Illinois tallied team-highs in tackles (80.5 - 15th in af2) and pass breakups (16). He also tied for second on the squad with seven interceptions (113 return yards - 1 TD) and tied for team-high honors with two fumble recoveries. In addition to his defensive expertise, Sanders was also the most dynamic return man in the af2 in 2009. He accumulated 1,042 yards and seven TDs on 35 kickoff returns for a league-best 29.8 yards per return average. He also had one missed field goal return TD to finish tied with Iowa's Tim Dodge for the af2 lead in total kick return TDs (8). Sanders was named to the National Conference All-af2 First Team on Wednesday.
