
Two Steals of Home Aid to Bullfrogs Loss

The Eau Claire Express stole home twice in Sunday's game at Joannes Stadium and handed the Bullfrogs their 28th overall loss of the Northwoods League season, 5-1 was the final.
Most of the game's run production came in the Express' four run fourth inning. The Express had five hits, all singles, in the frame. Will Fadness came home on an RBI single from Josh Scheffert. Two batters later, Jimmy Allen drove home Casey Gillaspie with a single and Alex Real plated Nick Addison with another one bagger. With two outs and runners on the corners, Allen scored on a double steal of home. Real was tagged out on the play to end the inning. The Express held a 4-0 lead.
The Express tacked on another run in the sixth inning. After the double steal of home in the fourth, this time Ty Forney scored on a straight steal of home with the bases loaded and Bud Jeter working from the windup to give extend Eau Claire's lead to 5-0.
The Bullfrogs scored their only run in the seventh inning when Collin Shaw scored on an RBI single from David Armendariz.
The loss went to Taylor Black (4-2). He gave up three earned runs in five innings of work. Bud Jeter gave up one earned run in two innings. Mac Acker pitched two scoreless innings for Green Bay.
The Bullfrogs stranded 11 runners on base in the game.
Green Bay has now fallen to .500 (28-28) on the season.
The Bullfrogs will remain at home to close out the season series against the Express tomorrow. First pitch is at 7:05 PM. Join us at Joannes Stadium for Youth League Sports Day. All kids who wear their little league uniform to Frogville get a free hot dog.
