
Two Run First Give Rome the Rain Shortened Win

Rome, GA - The Braves weathered wind and rain at State Mutual Stadium to shutout the Sand Gnats for their second victory of the season winning 2-0 before a crowd of 1,413. The game was stopped in the top of the eighth when heavy rain began to fall.
The Braves would get all the runs they would need in the first inning. Rome's bats struck early as Codey McElroy hit a 2 RBI double to left-center field allowing Keith Curcio and Jordan Edgerton to score for the 2-0 score.
The Rome Braves pitching took over from there scattering 4 hits over 7 innings. Max Povse (1-1) gets his first win of the season while Scarlyn Reyes (0-1) the loss. Zach Quintana (1-0) notches his first save of the season.
