Saint John Sea Dogs News Release
SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs are launching new apps for the BlackBerry (OS6) and Android platforms as the team continues to add ways for fans to follow the team on their mobile devices.
The Sea Dogs were among the first teams in the Canadian Hockey League to launch a free mobile app last season. The Saint John Sea Dogs Official App - developed by Buzzer Apps Mobile Solutions - launched for Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch in February. By adding similar apps for use on BlackBerry and Android devices, Sea Dogs fans will be able to connect with the team on the go, with their mobile brand of choice.
"We pride ourselves on being a leading major junior hockey franchise, not just with our on-ice product, but with our off-ice efforts to improve the fan experience," said Sea Dogs President Wayne Long. "Fan response was extremely positive for the iPhone app last season. The only complaint was that BlackBerry and Android users couldn't wait to have a Sea Dogs app on their phones as well. We have been hard at work behind the scenes with Buzzer Apps to make that a reality and we're proud to announce these two new apps."
Available for free through each platform's respective app marketplace, the app gives fans a direct connection to the latest Sea Dogs news. Schedule, roster and standings information are all available, along with a direct link to purchase tickets to upcoming games.

The app also now incorporates a "Buzz" section where fans can follow the online conversation about the Sea Dogs on Twitter (@seadogshockey). This year there is an added incentive for fans to follow on Twitter and Facebook (www.facebook.com/sjseadogs), as each new follower counts towards the standings in the Brunswick News Rivalry Cup competition against the rival Moncton Wildcats.
"We encourage fans to follow us on Twitter and Facebook and to download the new app to make sure they are up on all the latest goings on with the team," Long said.
