The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) CIBC Run for the Cure Charlottetown and PEI Rocket are pleased to announce the: 3rd Annual PINK OUT THE RINK in support of breast cancer research and awareness.

Pink out the rink will take place on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Charlottetown Civic Centre where the PEI Rocket will host the Moncton Wildcats in regular season play. Everyone is encouraged to come out, wear pink, and support this great cause.

Commencing October 10, Five dollars from every game ticket purchased will be donated to the CBCF CIBC Run for the Cure Charlottetown. Additionally, for each ticket purchased the spectator will have their name entered into a raffle to win one of the specialized league-issued pink jerseys that will be worn by the Rocket throughout the game. Additional raffle tickets are available at all CIBC locations across the province and the evening of the game at the price of $5 for one or three for $10.

PEI Rocket VP of Operations Trent Birt says, "As an organization, we understand the importance of competing hard every night to win the battles needed to win hockey games. Although this is very important to us and near and dear to our hearts, we realize it does not compare to what those battling the ugly disease of breast cancer must go through. Everyone directly and indirectly involved with this devastating disease must find energy and courage from within while relying on various resources from others to help them win the most important battle of all; that's living life. We can put systems in place to help us win games on the ice but unfortunately the science of beating cancer isn't where it has to be today. Because of this, we are most proud to be partnering with the Atlantic Chapter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to raise awareness and money to assist in finding a cure for this disease that effects far too many of us".

Glenn Trueman, CIBC Branch Manager at Queen and Grafton and Run Committee Member is thrilled with the continued partnership with the PEI Rocket. "We are very pleased to have the PEI Rocket continue their support and help raise the profile, and funds, for this great cause, said Trueman. "We are also proud to again welcome the PEI Breast Cancer Support Group - Charlottetown who will be joining us to welcome spectators, sing the national anthem and give the public an opportunity to see how their generosity has made a real and profound difference for those diagnosed with and affected by breast cancer".

Tickets go on-sale Monday, October 10, 2011 and can be purchased over the phone at (902) 629-6625 or in person at the Charlottetown Civic Centre Box Office from 11:00 am until 5:00pm daily. Prices, with raffle ballot included are $16.00 for adults, $14.00 for seniors and $10 for and youth and students.

Game time is 7 PM and all spectators are encouraged to wear pink and show their true colours in support of putting an end to breast cancer. Special sponsors of this year's event are Armour Fence, Larry Stewart Construction, Redmond Holdings and Wall to Wall Wood Flooring.
