Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Toby O'Brien announced today that center Dominic Forget and defenseman Ian Manzano have been recalled to the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators. In an unrelated move, the Chiefs AHL affiliate Cleveland Barons have re-assigned San Jose Sharks goaltending prospect Dimitri Patzold (PAT-zohld) to the Chiefs.
Forget, 22, is tied with Jeff Zehr as the team's leading scorer with 13 goals and 35 points in 50 games. The 5'9, 170 LBS native of Ste. Julie, Quebec was also the Chiefs leading scorer in 2002-03 with 23 goals and 62 points in 70 games. Forget has played two AHL games in his career, both with the Cleveland Barons last season.
Manzano, 26, has appeared in 49 games for the Chiefs this season, scoring two goals and 18 points. He is tied for the team lead in plus/minus with a +8. The Dorval, Quebec native is no stranger to the American Hockey League, playing 26 games last season for the now defunct Saint John Flames.
Patzold, 21, has played in 21 games for the Barons this season, going 8-12-0, with a 2.91 GAA and a 0.913 save percentage along with three shutouts. The 6'0, 190 LBS native of Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan was the San Jose Sharks third choice, (107th overall) in the 2001, NHL Entry Draft. In the current issue (February 17, 2004) of the "Hockey News," Patzold is listed eighth on the Sharks "Future Watch."
Both Manzano and Forget are expected to join the Senators in time for their game tonight at Syracuse. Patzold will join the Chiefs for their practice Thursday morning (T.B.A.)
