Two Frostbite players named to 2004-05 UHL all-star teams

Glens Falls, NY – Two members of the Adirondack Frostbite have been selected to the 2004-05 United Hockey League All Star Teams. Representing the Frostbite as a First Team All-Star is Left Wing Hugo Belanger. Defenseman Scott Drevitch was named to the UHL All-Star Second Team. The Frostbite, along with three other teams, had the highest representation on the All-Star Teams.

Belanger finished the season leading in the league in scoring with 106 points (34g, 72a). The fifth year UHL veteran finished tied for second in the league in assists with 72 and finished tied for fourth in the league in shooting percentage at 19.3%. Belanger has led the Adirondack franchise in scoring in each of his first five seasons with the club. Belanger also led the league in points his first three years and has eight straight seasons with at least one hundred points. The Canadian is also a three-time league MVP. Belanger leads Adirondack All-time in points (587), goals (190), assists (397) and games played (377). Earlier this season Belanger played in his 800th professional game. The St. Hubert, Quebec native was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the eighth round (163rd overall) of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft and was the first player to be named MVP of three different professional North American leagues (ECHL, WCHL and UHL).

Drevitch finished the season leading all UHL defensemen in scoring with 61 points (13g, 48a). He also led all defenseman in assists with 48 and shots with 239. He finished second amongst defenseman in power play points with 33 and power play assists with 26. The Massachusetts native finished his 18th professional season, beginning his career in 1988-89 with the Maine Mariners (AHL). Before joining Adirondack last year, the veteran skated with Port Huron where he had 63 points. Last season with Adirondack Drevitch finished second on the team in points with 58. Before turning pro, Drevitch spent four years playing college hockey; one season at the University of Maine and three at UMass-Lowell. Currently, Drevitch sits seventh on the Adirondack all-time list in assists with 96. The rest of the 2004-05 UHL First Team All-Stars are made up of goaltender Michel Robinson (Rockford); defensemen Nathan Lutz (Rockford) and Troy Neumeier (Fort Wayne); and forwards Colin Chaulk (Fort Wayne) and Bobby Reynolds (Flint).

The rest of the 2004-05 UHL Second Team All-Stars are made up of goaltender Robert Gherson (Quad City); defenseman Mat Snesrud (Missouri); and forwards David Hymovitz (Richmond), Rob Valicevic (Flint) and Robin Bouchard (Muskegon).

The Frostbite are back in action for games three and four of First Round Colonial Cup Playoff action against the Danbury Trashers at the Danbury Ice Arena Wednesday at 7:30p.m. and Friday at the same time. If necessary game five would be Saturday at 7:35p.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Tickets for that game can be purchased at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office.
