Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Illinois- seven11 Productions, in association with the Rockford IceHogs, are excited to announce that two video productions are being created for fans of both the team and of minor league professional hockey. The first production is the Fat Wallet.com 2004-2005 IceHogs Season Highlight DVD that will be given out to the first 1,000 fans who come to the Wednesday, April 20th playoff game against the Kalamazoo Wings. The IceHogs recently completed their most successful and exciting season in team history, and seven11 Productions was there to capture more than 100 goals, plus fights and amazing goalie saves on tape. Fans will receive a redemption voucher at Wednesday's game that entitles them to a free copy of the Highlight DVD. Fans with the redemption voucher must send an email to highlightdvd@seven11productions.com so that they can be notified when the DVD becomes available. Other sponsors of the 2004-2005 Season Highlight DVD include Dental Dimensions, Featherstone Clinic and Metro Medical Services.
seven11 Productions is also currently in post-production on their first feature-length documentary film titled "RoadHogs: The Other Side of the Season." The film takes viewers behind the scenes to see what life is like for a professional hockey team playing the other half of their season away from home. "RoadHogs" will give viewers an amazing perspective into the game with exclusive access to the team in the locker room and on the ice .
In all, the seven11 Productions cameras shot more than 40 hours of digital tape on 10 road games, beginning in December with a game at Motor City (Frasier, MI) and ending with a late March game at Quad City (Moline, IL). Other locations where the cameras were rolling include Muskegon and Kalamazoo in Michigan and Ft. Wayne in Indiana. Among those games was the annual Pink Ice Game in Kalamazoo on Valentine's Day and the first UHL game for Detroit Red Wing players Chris Chelios and Derian Hatcher when they suited up for the Motor City Mechanics.
While nothing like RoadHogs has ever been done before on a minor league hockey level, the unique access given to seven11 Productions makes the film truly distinctive. Viewers will see how the team travels to games, how the players prepare for the game, what happens inside the locker room before and after the game, and more. Steve Martinson, Head Coach of the Rockford IceHogs, wears a wireless microphone during two road games to capture what is said to the players and the officiating crew during the game. IceHogs Forward Jason Ralph is also wired for sound in the film, giving a unique insight into what players say to each other during battle. Also, IceHogs Athletic Trainer J.J. Tews, IceHogs Equipment Manager Chris Plumhoff and UHL Referee John Searle wear the wireless microphone during games. This voyeuristic look into the game will give fans a whole new appreciation for the sport. While the Rockford IceHogs are the focal point, the film is intended to appeal to all fans of hockey. United Hockey League Commissioner Richard Brosal has given his approval on the project and will allow seven11 Productions to promote sales of the film from their website, www.theuhl.com. Commissioner Brosal will also assist in getting other hockey leagues to promote the movie.
RoadHogs: The Other Side of the Season is scheduled to be completed in August and will sell for $19.99. With each $19.95 purchase of the DVD, You can also earn $5 in Cash Back from FatWallet.com
