
Twisters' Offense Clicks in Win over Amarillo

(North Little Rock, AR) - The Arkansas Twisters' offense was clicking in its defeat of Amarillo by the score of 54-46 in front of 4942 at Allstate Field at Alltel Arena.
The Twisters were stopped on just one drive the whole night, and quarterback Kyle Rowley accounted for six total touchdowns to help even Arkansas' record at 2-2.
Both teams exchanged scoring drives most of the first half. Both teams combined to score on five straight drives until Amarillo missed a 58 yard field goal in the second quarter and the Twisters up 20-14. Arkansas added to its lead when Rowley found Patrick Rouzard for an 18 yard touchdown reception to make it 27-14 at half time.
Amarillo closed to within one to start the second half. The Dusters began the third quarter with quarterback Julian Reese finding Donald Hooks for a 30 yard score. After Amarillo stopped the Twisters' offense for the first time in the game, Amarillo drove down field again and scored when Reese found Jim Lukowiak for a five yard score. The extra point pulled the Dusters within 27-26.
Arkansas scored to extend its lead back to eight when John Sessler his first touchdown of the season, a four yard run to put Arkansas up 34-26.
Amarillo drove down field, but couldn't convert on fourth down and gave the ball back to Arkansas. The Twisters cashed in when Rowley found Rouzard for the second time on a 29 yard play and the extra point put Arkansas up 40-26.
The Twisters continued to score on offense the rest of the game and never allowed Amarillo to get closer than a touchdown.
Reese continued his solid play for Amarillo. He completed 20 of 38 pass attempts for 271 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions. He has 19 touchdown passes on the season and zero interceptions. Lukowiak led all players with 13 catches for 185 and five touchdowns. Hooks had four catches and one score. Terick Thomas led all players with 7.5 total tackles.
Rowley completed 23 of 31 pass attempts for 249 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions. Jamaal Perry, Rouzard and Jim Jones all hauled in two touchdown catches each to lead the offense. Tracy Belton was named the defensive player of the game with 3.5 total tackles and a game high 4 pass deflections.
