Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned outfielder

Byron Buxton from rehab assignment, reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple- A Rochester.

Buxton was originally placed on the 15-day disabled list on June 26 with a left thumb sprain. He played in three games on his rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester, batting .417 (5-for-12). Buxton hit .189 (7-for-37) with one double, one triple, two walks, a stolen base and five runs in 11 games with the Twins prior to the injury.
