Tulsa Sinks Frisco in Series Opener

FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders jumped ahead early on Jax Biggers' leadoff home run in the first inning but Tulsa outpaced Frisco for a 7-2 win at Riders Field on Tuesday.

On the second pitch of Frisco's day offensively, Biggers homered to right field. It was his eighth homer of the year and first since rejoining the club from Triple-A.

Down 3-1 in the sixth inning, Frisco drew three walks and scored Evan Carter on Aaron Zavala's fielder's choice.

Carter reached twice with his walk and a single, while Zavala added a double to his RBI grounder. Biggers also reached twice, walking on nine pitches in his first plate appearance after his homer.

Liam Hicks singled and reached on a hit by pitch. Hicks has now reached base in 22 of his last 24 games, and in all 26 of his games played at Riders Field this year.

Nick Krauth (4-9) went 5.1 innings in his start for Frisco, allowing three runs and picking up the loss. He struck out the last batter he faced to tie his season high with six strikeouts.

John Matthews pitched the eighth inning for Frisco, logging his sixth consecutive appearance without an earned run. He has covered eight innings in those appearances with just three hits allowed.

Nick Frasso (3-4) collected the win for Tulsa, going five innings with one run allowed. After he gave up a home run to the first batter he faced, he did not allow a hit to the next 12 batters he faced.
