Weekend Recap: The Allen Americans played the role of spoiler during Tulsa's home opening weekend at the BOK Center by handing the Oilers a pair of 3-2 losses. On each night the Oilers jumped out to 2-0 leads only to watch the Americans bounce back with three unanswered goals. On Saturday, Allen cashed in on three power play opportunities including a 5-on-3 advantage in the third period that produced the game-winning goal. The Americans went 3-for-6 on the power play and fired 41 shots at the Tulsa net. Sunday, the Americans took the lead with a shorthanded tally in the second period and held off the Oilers for the remainder of the contest. Tulsa finished 0-for-6 on the power play and fell to 0-3-1 on the season.

Terrific Turnout: 7,667 fans filled the BOK Center on Saturday night making the Oilers home opener the highest attended home opener of any team in the CHL. Tulsa's largest crowd last season was 6,346.

The Elusive "W": The Oilers haven't gone without a victory in the first four games of the season since starting 0-3-1 in the 2008-09 campaign.

Offensive Outage: Tulsa has scored just seven goals through the first four games, the team's lowest output to start a season since recording seven goals in the first four games of the 2001-02 season.

Switching Sweaters: Prior to Sunday's game, the Oilers signed rookie Charles Lachance, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound forward. Lachance didn't have to travel far to join his new club. The Quebec City native was on Allen's roster to start the weekend and appeared in each of the Americans' first three games. Lachance, who registered two assists in his brief time with Allen, turned pro after three collegiate seasons at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Getting Familiar: Wednesday night in Allen, the Oilers will play their third straight game against the Americans. The two clubs will face off in three of their four outings with the Americans back at the BOK Center on Saturday and the Oilers making a return trip to Allen on Sunday. The Oilers and Americans clash a total of 11 times this season and will meet eight times before the end of November.

Keeping It Clean: Through four games, the Oilers are averaging 14.25 penalty minutes per game, fewer than any other team in the CHL.

New Threads: The Oilers brand new jerseys made their debut in the home opener on Saturday. The re-designed look features the Oilers "Ice Man" logo on the front with a horizontal stripe running across the midsection and around the middle of the sleeves. The secondary oil drop logo appears on each shoulder. The jerseys were designed by former Tulsa captain, Tyler Fleck.

Save That Puck: Rookie defenseman Andrew Himelson recorded his first professional goal on Saturday night. The 23-year old pounced on a rebound created by Drew Fisher's wraparound attempt and rifled a shot past the blocker of Allen goalie Bryan Pitton. Himelson, a Monroe, New York native who just finished a four-year college career at Clarkson University, has been paired up with veteran blue-liner Nathan Lutz through the first four games.

Man Down: Near the end of the first period on Saturday, Oilers forward Ryan Menei was injured in a collision with Americans forward Spencer Asuchak. Menei, Tulsa's leading scorer from last season, skated just one shift in the second period and was sidelined for the remainder of the contest. The Oilers were forced to play with just eight forwards for the final two periods.

Penalty Shot Shutdown: In the second period of Saturday's 3-2 loss, the Oilers faced their first penalty shot of the season. Allen forward Corey Tamblyn was caught from behind on a shorthanded breakaway and awarded a free trip to the Tulsa net. Oilers goalie Shane Madolora wasn't fooled by Tamblyn's deke and kept his five hole closed as Tamblyn tried to slide the puck between his legs.
