"The reason we gave ourselves a chance to win tonight is because of what we did defensively," 66ers head coach Nate Tibbetts said. "We kept fighting and we stayed with it. When you have struggles offensively it's important to keep up your defensive intensity and keep fighting."
The 66ers, who improved to 5-2 against the Legends this season, posted 22 assists, including a team-high five dishes from guard Brandon Brooks.
Tulsa also held a decisive 54-28 advantage in points in the paint.
"I thought in the second half we did a really good job of getting to the rim, getting in the paint," Tibbetts said. "I thought the first half we settled a little bit. We started attacking the rim a lot better after that."
Leading the Legends was Justin Dentmon with a game-high 24 points. Sean Williams added a double-double with 10 points and 13 boards.
The 66ers return to the court tomorrow afternoon, Feb. 27, when they host the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 4 p.m. inside the Tulsa Convention Center.
