
Tulsa Acquires Guard Marcus Taylor

GREENVILLE, S.C., December 30 - The Tulsa 66ers have acquired guard Marcus Taylor from the NBA Development League available player pool. Taylor takes the roster spot vacated when guard John Lucas earned a GATORADE Call-Up to the Houston Rockets on Thursday.
Taylor, 6-3, 195, was a second-round (14th overall) selection by the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in the 2005 NBA D-League Draft. He played in and started six games for the T-Birds, averaging 21.8 minutes, 8.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists before being waived on December 8.
An early entry into the 2002 NBA Draft out of Michigan State, Taylor was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round (52nd overall). Averaging 16.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 5.3 assists as a sophomore in his final season at Michigan State, Taylor has played professionally in Greece, in the WBA and the CBA.
Taylor will join the team in Austin and is expected to be in uniform tonight when the 66ers play the Toros at the Austin Convention Center.
