
Arkansas Acquires Walsh, Waives Thomas

GREENVILLE, S.C., December 30 - The Arkansas RimRockers have acquired forward Matt Walsh from the NBA Development League available player pool and waived forward Harvey Thomas.
Walsh, 6-6, 200, began the season with the Miami Heat where he played in two games, averaging 1.5 minutes and 1.0 points. An early entry into the 2005 NBA Draft from the University of Florida, Walsh was not drafted and signed by the Heat as a free agent on August 15. He was waived by Miami on November 18.
Walsh played in 92 games over three seasons at Florida, averaging 14.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and a team-leading 3.0 assists in his final season. He was named the MVP of the 2005 Southeastern Conference Tournament after leading the Gators to the SEC title. His 192 career three-pointers are fifth all-time at Florida (192-483, .398).
Thomas was the first player selected (4th overall) by the RimRockers in the 2005 NBA D-League Draft. In nine games (no starts) he averaged 10.3 minutes, 3.2 points and 1.0 rebounds.
