Bradenton Marauders News Release
CLEARWATER, Fla. - In the second game of a four game series between the Bradenton Marauders and the Clearwater Threshers at Spectrum Field, the home side took their second consecutive win over Bradenton, this time by a 6-1 score on Tuesday night. The defeat moved the Marauders season-long losing streak to eight games and dropped them to 14.5 games back in the Florida State League's South division and dropped their elimination number down to five.
Rehabbing Major Leaguer RHP Jerad Eickhoff made his third outing with the Threshers, and his second start against the Marauders among them in the Clearwater win, as Eickhoff worked through his scheduled four innings on 51 pitches while allowing a single hit in his final frame to Adrian Valerio while walking three and striking out four batters. Following him on the hill for the home side was RHP Ramon Rosso who made his first career outing against the Marauders by firing a matching four innings on a single hit and allowed the only Marauders tally of the evening. With two outs in the top half of the eighth inning, Rosso issued two walks to Brett Pope and Mitchell Tolman that set up Casey Hughston with runners on the corners before the center fielder singled down the right field line to bring home the only offense for Bradenton, with Tuesday's one run output equal to the team's single run scored on Monday in the inaugural game of the set. LHP Jacob Hennigan finished the game on the hill for Clearwater with a 1-2-3 ninth, setting the Marauders down in order.
The Marauders continue their final trip of the year to Clearwater on Wednesday in the third game of the four game series at 7 pm, with LHP Domingo Robles making his second start with the Marauders and opposing him will be RHP Adonis Medina for the Threshers.
