TODAY'S GAME: Game two of a four-game series against the St. Lucie Mets (NYM) from First Data Field (1-0)...Game two of a seven-game road trip against the Mets and Lakeland Flying Tigers (1-0)...Florida is coming off a four-game series defeat to the Fort Myers Miracle at Osceola County Stadium, and 1-6 homestand against the Palm Beach Cardinals and Miracle...Fourth, and final, series (12 games) between Florida and St. Lucie in 2018, with Florida leading the series 6-3...The Fire Frogs took two of three at First Data Field from May 7-9.
TODAY'S STARTING PITCHER: 22-year-old Tucker Davidson makes his 23rd start of the season in game two of the four-game series against the St. Lucie Mets on Tuesday night...The Amarillo, Texas native entered the 2018 season as the 13th- (Baseball America) and 23rd- (MLB.com) ranked prospect in the Atlanta Braves organization, and is currently 25th (MLB.com)...The southpaw did not factor into the decision of a 4-3 loss to the Fort Myers Miracle on Aug. 9...The Midland College product allowed two runs on six hits, two walks and eight punchouts through five innings, leaving the contest trailing 2-0...Tuesday will be Davidson's second career start against the Mets...The 6-foot-2 hurler did not factor into the decision of a 7-6 victory over the New York Mets affiliate on April 18 at Osceola County Stadium...Davidson allowed two runs on three knocks, two free passes and four punchouts across four frames.
YNOA CATCHES FIRE IN FIRST WIN: Huascar Ynoa fired in six shutout innings, and the Florida Fire Frogs took the series opener against the St. Lucie Mets at First Data Field, 3-1. Florida's starter earned his first win at the High-A level, and took a no-hit bid through 5.1 innings before an infield single by Anthony Dimino.
DAILY DELGADO: Riley Delgado stretched his hitting streak to five games with a 1-for-4 performance on Monday night...The Miami native is batting .500 (11-for-22) with four RBI since Aug. 9, raising his average from .264 to .312...All 11 of the right-handed batter's hits have gone either up the middle (2), or to the right side (9) - no balls have been pulled...The 23-year-old already has 34 hits through 27 games at the High-A level, after picking up 136 knocks in 105 contests in Low-A with Rome.
DOUBLING UP: William Contreras collected two hits on Monday night, giving the young backstop his fifth multi-hit performance in just 10 games with Florida...The 20-year-old already has four doubles in his time at the High-A level, with two going to left field and two going to right-center...The native of Venezuela has amassed six RBI in the Florida State League, with all six coming over his last seven games.
JUMPING IN THE SHOW: Former Florida starter Touki Toussaint made his big league debut with the Atlanta Braves on Monday afternoon against the Miami Marlins at SunTrust Park, earning the win with one runs allowed on two hits, two walks and four strikeouts in game one of the twin bill...The Braves seventh-ranked prospect (MLB.com) became the sixth Fire Frog to make it to the show, joining LHP A.J. Minter, LHP Luiz Gohara, LHP Adam McCreery, RHP Chad Sobotka and OF Ronald Acuna...The 22-year-old holds the Fire Frogs record for most strikeouts in a season, posting 123 in 2017.
BUILDING THE PIPELINE: MLB Pipeline revealed its updated prospect rankings, and nine Atlanta Braves farmhands cracked the top-100...Of the nine, seven either currenlty played, or have previously played for the Fire Frogs: Kyle Wright (24), Ian Anderson (38), Austin Riley (43), Cristian Pache (57), Luiz Gohara (61), Touki Toussaint (76), and Drew Waters (98).
