
Tsimikalis sparks Rangers to 5-4 win

Kitchener, ON: Peter Tsimikalis scored twice and added a pair of assists leading the Rangers to a 5-4 win over the Saginaw Spirit tonight at The Aud.
After a scoreless first period the Rangers jumped out to a 1-0 lead 1:08 into the second period on Justin Azevedo's 16th goal of the season. After the Spirit tied the game at 1-1 Peter Tsimikalis put the Rangers up 2-1 with his 18th goal at 7:23 while on the power play. After another Spirit goal to tie the game Tsimikalis put the Rangers up 3-2 with his 19th goal. Kevin Henderson (29) and Jakub Kindl (11) also scored to put the Rangers up 5-3 after two periods.
Cody Bass brought the Spirit to within a goal with his 10th goal of the season at 19:34.
John Murray picked up the win in goal turning aside 42 shots to improve to 38-9-1-2.
The Rangers next home game is Sunday, March 11th against the Windsor Spitfires. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
