Chris Terry scored once and added two assists to lead the Plymouth Whalers to a 5-1 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 3,209 at the Tullio Arena.
Vern Cooper, Andrew Fournier, Steve Ward and AJ Jenks also scored for the Whalers, who improved to 47-14-1-3 on the season.
Mike Liambas netted the lone goal for the Otters, who saw their two-game winning streak end and are now 15-46-1-2.
The Whalers led 1-0 after one and 3-1 heading into the third.
Plymouth out shot the Otters 45-37 as Justin Garay started and took the loss.
The three stars of the game were all form the Whalers. Goaltender Michal Neuvirth was the first, Terry the second and Evan Brophey (two assists) the third.
The Otters return to action tomorrow (Saturday) night at 7:30 p.m. when the Saginaw Spirit visit the Tullio Arena for a 7:30 p.m. start. Tickets for the game are available at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations as well as the Erie Civic Center Box Office.
The game can also be heard live on True Oldies 1330 and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m. and seen live on the Image Sports Network with the opening face-off at 7:30 p.m.
