
Troy Passingham Precision Jewellers And Windsor Spitfires Player of the Month

(Windsor) Rookie goaltender Troy Passingham is the Precision Jewellers and Windsor Spitfires Player of the Month for December as selected by the Spitfires coaching staff. Passingham posted a 6-1-0-1 record for the CHL's #1 ranked team and defending 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup Champions in December with a goals against average of 2.68 and a.913 save percentage in eight games.
Passingham allowed two goals or less in four of his eight starts, including performances where he stopped 23 of 24 shots in leading the Spitfires to a 3-1 victory over the Erie Otters on December 10th at the WFCU Centre and also making 21 saves the following night while stopping four of five shooters in Windsor's 3-2 overtime shootout victory on the road over the CHL's sixth ranked Mississauga St. Michael's Majors on December 11th. Additionally, he stopped 31 of 33 shots in being named the first star of Windsor's 4-2 victory over the London Knights at the WFCU Centre on December 17th and stopped 28 of 29 shots in the Spitfires' 6-1 win in Saginaw against the Spirit on December 19th.
Passingham, a 19 year-old native of Mississauga, ON, is currently ranked first amongst OHL goaltenders in wins with 30, and he is also tied for second in the OHL with three shutouts and is third in the league with a 2.50 goals against average. Passingham has been selected as the Windsor Spitfires Player of the Week a team high four times this season and is eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Prior to the commencement of this past Sunday's Spitfire home game against the Sarnia Sting, Passingham received a Bulova watch from Dan Thomas of Precision Jewellers for his outstanding performance in December.
