Modesto Nuts News Release
San Bernardino, CA. - Three runs in the seventh sent the Modesto Nuts to a 5-2 loss to the Inland Empire 66ers on Sunday afternoon at San Manuel Stadium.
The 66ers (14-30) broke the tie in the seventh against the Nuts' (17-26) starter Parker French (L, 2-2) who had allowed just one earned run in his first six innings.
French hit the leadoff man before Zach Houchins whacked a double to put the go-ahead runs in scoring position. Jeff Boehm followed and cracked a two-run single to put the 66ers in front for good.
The Nuts had come back to take the lead in the fourth and fifth innings. Collin Ferguson smacked a RBI single in the fourth to tie the game at the time. The Nuts took their only lead in the fifth when Omar Carrizales delivered a sac fly.
Jose Molina (W, 3-2) tossed a hitless seventh inning. Ronnie Muck (S, 1/2) worked around a ninth-inning walk.
Game four of the four-game set with the 66ers on Monday night is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m. Coverage on ModestoNuts.com will start at 7:00 p.m. Listen live online.
