INDIANAPOLIS - Brent Morel cleared the bases with his third-inning double and four Tribe pitchers combined for a shutout as the Indianapolis Indians defeated the Toledo Mud Hens 5-0 on Monday night at Victory Field.

The Indians' pitching staff has now worked three straight games and 33 consecutive innings since it last allowed an earned run.

Starter Charlie Leesman captained the effort with five one-hit innings and the winning decision. He allowed only one batter to reach safely - Mat Gaynor on a dribbler down the third base line - and used three strikeouts and eight groundouts to keep Toledo off the basepaths.

Morel came through with his first hit of the season after three consecutive singles loaded the bases.

Deibinson Romero also doubled home a run in the frame and Elias Diaz coaxed a bases-loaded walk in the eighth to pad the Tribe lead.

In relief, A.J Morris, Collin Balester and Bobby LaFromboise combined for six strikeouts with no walks over four innings.
