Tribe returns for six-day homestand

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The Indianapolis Indians open a six-day, six-game homestand on Thursday, hosting the Columbus Clippers and Toledo Mud Hens.

The Clippers, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, will meet the Tribe in a two-day, two-game series starting on Thursday. Field manager Bucky Dent has guided the Clippers to first place in the IL West Division, more than seven games ahead of second place Toledo. The Mud Hens, managed by Larry Parrish, are the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and include former Notre Dame infielder Brant Ust.

Here's a peak at the promotional schedule for the upcoming homestand:

Fan Appreciation/Shirt-Off-Our-Back Night-Thursday at 7:00 p.m. vs. Columbus (New York Yankees) The homestand begins with the Tribe paying tribute to the fans. When the gates open at 5:30 p.m., the first 500 fans will receive a complimentary beverage holder from Ballpark Franks. One lucky fan will have a chance to win a round-trip airline ticket for two, anywhere in the continental United States, courtesy of ATA. Indians retro jerseys, worn by the players, will be given away throughout the game with winning fans receiving the jerseys from the players on the field after the game.

Thursday is also Ticketmaster Family Night, Franklin Community Night and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Night.

Fireworks/Wheel of Fortune Night-Friday at 7:00 p.m. vs. Columbus (New York Yankees) Trinia and the Gypsies will perform a pre-game concert in the Centerfield Plaza at 5:30 p.m. Crystal Flash will award one grand prize winner $250 in gift certificates prior to the game. Fans will have a chance to win up to $6,000 as part of a post-game Wheel of Fortune contest, courtesy of WTHR. Then, all will enjoy the always entertaining post-game fireworks show, courtesy of Reeves Buick-Pontiac, Pepsi and The Indianapolis Star.

Friday is also "Check up or Check out Men's Health Promotion" presented by Spike TV. Fans will have opportunities to answer health related trivia questions on the scoreboard and win prizes.

Zooperstars Night-Saturday at 7:00 p.m. vs. Toledo (Detroit Tigers) Phillip Steven & the Open Road will perform a pre-game concert in the Centerfield Plaza at 5:30 p.m. Zooperstars characters Ken Giraffey, Jr., Clammy Sosa, Shark McGwire, Harry Canary and Peyton Manatee will entertain fans throughout the game, courtesy of Fox-59 and WENS. Harry Canary will help lead the singing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh inning stretch. The Zooperstars will dance, flip, bounce, shake and flat out make fans crack up with laughter during the game.

Don Zimmer Bobblehead Day-Sunday at 2:00 p.m. vs. Toledo (Detroit Tigers) Gates open at 12:30 p.m. and the first 4,000 fans will receive a Don Zimmer Bobblehead, courtesy of WISH-TV. Kevin Brinegar, executive director of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce will lead the singing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh inning stretch.

Monday Dollar Menu Night-Monday at 7:00 p.m. vs. Toledo (Detroit Tigers) It will be the final Monday Dollar Menu Night of the season. The Indians will roll back prices for five concessions items to include regular nachos, popcorn, peanuts, hot dogs and Cracker Jack for $1 each.

Business Day Special/Davis Homes Day-Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. vs. Toledo (Detroit Tigers) The series with Toledo concludes as fans can pick up two-for-one ticket vouchers at Davis Homes. Tribe radio broadcasters Howard Kellman and Scott Lauer will air the game from the stadium concourse.
