Tri-City Storm News Release
KEARNEY, Neb. - The Tri-City Storm finalized a trade with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders to acquire C Jared Linnell for Storm affiliate player LW Corey Petrash.
General Manager and Head Coach Josh Hauge made the announcement Wednesday morning before the team's morning skate.
Linnell, who is committed to the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, had six points (3g, 3a) and 16 penalty minutes in 16 games with the RoughRiders this season. Last season, Linnell was the leading scorer for Hauge's Fairbanks Ice Dogs (NAHL) Championship team with 65 points (34g, 31a) in 58 games. In the playoffs, the 5-foot-11 and 175-pound center had 11 points (4g, 7a) in 11 games in route to the Robertson Cup Championship with Fairbanks.
The North Pole, Alaska native will wear No. 17 for the Storm and will be available to play tonight against the Des Moines Buccaneers.
The Storm will host the Buccaneers today at the Viaero Event Center. The game will be on The Breeze 94.5 FM with the Viaero Wireless Pre-Game Show at 6:45 p.m. Tri-City will host two more games this weekend against Sioux City on Friday and Omaha on Saturday, as both games will be on Classic Hits 98.9 FM.

Tri-City Storm - 9-16-0, 18 pts (7th in Western Conference)
- Last game - Dec. 17 - 3-1 win @ Sioux City Musketeers
- The Storm are led in points and goals by C Nick Lappin - 25 points (14g, 11a). Lappin also has a team-leading seven power-play points (4PPG, 3PPA). Lappin has registered points in 16 of the 21 games he has played this season
- RW Kenny Brooks, who has 13 assists this season, leads the team in that category. Overall, Brooks has 21 points (8g, 13a) in 25 games this season. Brooks has nine points (5g, 4a) in the last nine games and is currently on a career-high three-game goal streak
- C Tim Bonner has five points (3g, 2a) and a plus-5 rating in the last two games, which earned him Co-CCM Offensive Player of the Week for Week 12 in the USHL
- LW Trevor Moore, who has soared to third on the team in scoring with 16 points (8g, 8a), has 14 points (7g, 7a) in the last 13 games
- The Storm will get back RW Michael Vecchione following the USHL Break, as he missed the last eight games due to an injury. D Dalton Spicer is still ruled out for games this week due to injury sustained in early December
- G Pheonix Copley (8-10-0) has a 2.69 GAA and .919 SV%. Copley was named Reebok Goaltender of the Week for Week 12 in the USHL after winning two games and allowing only two goals on 72 shots (.972 SV%). G Adam Wilcox (8-6-0) has a 2.67 GAA and .912 SV%
- The power play is ranked 12th in the USHL going 17-for-113 (15.0%). the penalty kill is ranked 11th in the league at 82.1% (92-for-112)
