Vancouver Giants News Release
KENNEWICK WA - The Vancouver Giants ran into a buzz-saw and saw their seven game win streak come to an end as the Tri City Americans beat the Giants 5-3 at the Toyota Center.
The Giants against form allowed goals in the last minute of both the first and second periods, the first time they have allowed any goals in the final minute of a period. Former Giant Jason Reese opened the scoring, converting a nice cross ice feed to beat Tyson Sexsmith with a quick one timer at 17:01. Mitch Fadden would rub salt on the Giants, beating his defender down low and snapping a shot past Sexsmith in tight with just 2 seconds left in the period to go up by two.
The second period was more AMS as Kruise Reddick was able to convert a Adam Hughesman rebound to up the lead to 3-0. Adam Basford would answer before the period would end, picking up his fourth goal of the season, but Tri City would answer back, as Jarrett Toll slapped a Mitch Fadden feed shelf on Sexsmith to make it 4-1 after two.
The Giants would make it close with Jonathon Blum and Casey Pierro-Zabotel getting goals in the third, but Johnny Lazo would salt the game away with a goal late in the third to take home the victory for the Americans.
The Giants will now head home for 11 of their next twelve. The only road game will be back here in Kennewick on December 13th. Giants next game will be versus the Regina Pats on Wednesday night. Pre game show on AM 650 will be at 6:30 pm, puck drop from the Coliseum will be at 7 pm.
