The Americans will match up against the Everett Silvertips for the first of 12 head-to-head games this season.
Tri-City will look to get back in the win column tonight and snap an eight game losing streak after falling to Seattle in overtime twice over the last three games. Everett comes into tonight's game on a three game winning streak. They fell to Portland in a shootout two weeks ago but have yet to lose a game in regulation this season.
Parker Bell continues to lead scoring for the Americans, the 2022 NHL Draft prospect has scored five goals and added four assists over ten games. Hunter Campbell, an Everett, Wash. native, leads the Silvertips in scoring with four goals and eight assists through ten games.
The two teams played four times last season with Everett taking victory in the first three games and the Americans earning a dominate 6-2 victory in their most recent meeting. Sam Huo led scoring for the Americans against the Silvertips last season with two goals and two assists.
The Ams most recently played last Saturday when they fell to the Thunderbirds 4-3 in overtime. Tri-City has now scored first in their last four games, on Saturday it was Connor Bouchard getting the Ams on the board first with his first goal of the season. Ethan Ernst scored Tri-City's second goal in the second period off a short handed breakaway. The tying goal came late in third period from Marc Lajoie, the defenseman's first goal of the season, sending the game into overtime. Seattle scored just 37 seconds into the extra frame handing Tri-City an OT loss for the second time in three games. Nick Avakyan made his WHL debut on Saturday with his first ever WHL start in net. The 2004-born goaltender turned aside 48 of 52 shots faced.
Last weekend the Americans completed a trade with the Kelowna Rockets, sending Talyn Boyko (G) and receiving Cole Tisdale (G) and a third-round pick in 2024. Tisdale arrived in Kennewick on Monday and has practiced with the team all week.
