Montreal Alouettes News Release
Montreal - Following a strong performance on Thursday in Ottawa in a 40-33 win, Alouettes' quarterback Trevor Harris was named the CFL player of the week.
The Waldo, OH native completed 25 of his 31 passes for a completion rate of 80.6%, adding 341 yards and two touchdowns. His longest completion was to Montrealer Hergy Mayala, who caught a 69-yard-pass. The receiver also registered his first game of 100 yards and more with the Alouettes.
Although the Alouettes were trailing 8-0 after 15 minutes and 26-25 after three quarters, the former Edinboro University Fighting Scot never gave up and distributed the ball well. Five of the team's receivers amassed more than 25 receiving yards.
The Alouettes will play their next game on Thursday, July 28 at 7:30 pm at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, against the Tiger-Cats.
The selection was voted by a panel of judges made up of Matt Dunigan and Marshall Ferguson of TSN, as well as Pierre Vercheval of RDS, who independently send their selections to the CFL head office.
