Arkansas Travelers News Release
Tulsa, OK - It took extra innings but the Arkansas Travelers emerged victorious on Opening Night in a see-saw battle defeating the Tulsa Drillers, 6-4 in 10 innings. Twice, Arkansas rallied from deficits to take the lead only to see Tulsa come back each time. Both teams starting pitchers worked five innings and allowed a combined one run while relievers were charged with a total on nine runs in five total frames. Tulsa starter Dustin May struck out nine over five shutout innings while allowing just two hits before the Travs battered the Drillers bullpen. Arkansas runs came in a trio of two-run innings in the sixth, ninth and tenth. For the game, the Travs left 10 runners on base while the Drillers stranded 11.
