Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Arkansas Travelers continued their strong run with a 5-2 victory over the Tulsa Drillers on Friday night at ONEOK Field. Matt Oye (4-5) earned his second win in a row over Tulsa delivering a seven-inning performance and held Tulsa to two runs on five base hits while recording a season-high eight strikeouts. Roberto Lopez (8) and Paul McAnulty (2) both hit home runs while Darwin Perez knocked in two runs with a double.

The victory, the Travs' 11th in 16 games, puts their second half record at 18-16. With Springfield's 4-2 win at NW Arkansas the Travs remain 5.5 games out of first place. The Drillers fall to the Travs for the sixth time in their last nine meetings and now hold a 15-19 record in the second half.

The Travs got help in the first inning as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead. With two outs McAnulty hit a routine ground ball to first baseman Ben Paulsen, but he booted the play for an error. Lopez ripped Josh Outman's (1-5) for a two-run homer way over the left field wall.

Brian Hernandez and Ryan Mount opened the fourth inning with singles then advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Jimmy Swift. Hernandez was caught in a rundown between third and home when Alberto Rosario hit back to the mound. He stayed in the rundown long enough to let Mount advance to third and Rosario to second base. Perez followed with a two-run double past first base for a 4-0 lead.

Oye held the Drillers scoreless over his first six innings. He hit back-to-back batters in the first inning with two outs, but induced Kent Matthes to pop out to end the inning. After a perfect second inning where Oye recorded his first two strikeouts, Warren Schaffer had the first Drillers hit with a bad hop single off Hernandez at third base. After a strikeout of Tim Torres, Oye got Angelys Nina to bounce to Hernandez to begin a double play. He pitched around Nolan Arenado's leadoff double in the fourth inning and came into the sixth inning with a string of six outs. Torres worked a leadoff walk, but Nina grounded into another double play.

The Drillers got a one-out single in the seventh from Matthes then Jimmy Cesario hit a double inside the first-base line. As Cesario slid into second base Lopez's throw hit him and rolled away allowing Matthes to score. Oye followed with a strikeout of Mike Zuanich but Jose Gonzalez hit a bloop single knocking in Cesario and bringing the tying run to the plate. Oye ended his night with a strikeout of Schaffer holding a 4-2 lead.

Leading off the eighth inning McAnulty went to left field with a home run (2) off Joe Torres giving him RBIs in 13 straight games and a 5-2 Travs lead.

The Drillers threatened Ryan Chaffee in the eighth inning with a pair of two out base hits putting runners at second and third. Matthes hit a slow bouncer near the third base bag and Hernandez made a barehanded play and fired across for the third out.

Kevin Johnson (13) earned the save in the ninth inning pitching around a walk and inducing the third double play of the night.

Time of game was 2:48 and the paid attendance was 7,459.
