BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced on Monday that they have signed forwards Anthony Battaglia and Travis Lisabeth. Per club policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Lisabeth appeared in 269 games with the Sea Wolves from 2001-05, scoring 82 goals and 93 assists. The 6-0, 200-pounder appeared in 68 games during the 2007-08 season, scoring 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points. Lisabeth ranks second in Sea Wolves history in games played (347), third in goals (97), fourth in points (208) and power-play goals (27), fifth in game-winning goals (13), tied for sixth in assists with Kelly Hurd (111), and sixth in penalty minutes (545). Originially from Langton, Ont., Lisabeth has appeared in 457 ECHL games with Cincinnati, Pensacola, Mississippi, Phoenix, and Columbia, scoring 309 points (135g, 174a), and has also played for Manchester of the American Hockey League and Edinburgh of the English Ice Hockey League.

"Travis had a difficult transitional year. He was asked to do a lot off the ice and in the locker room," said Sea Wolves head coach Steffon Walby. "With better talent around him and a hungrier attitude for success, he should be better than years previous."

Battaglia split the 2007-08 season between Augusta and Columbia of the ECHL, scoring seven goals and 25 assists in 66 games. The Chicago, Ill.-native appeared in 138 games for Mississippi in 2003-04 and 2004-05, scoring 50 goals and 46 assists. Entering his seventh professional season, the 6-0, 195-pound forward has appeared in 369 ECHL regular season games with Florida, Mississippi, Augusta, Utah, and Columbia, potting 98 goals and 141 assists. Battaglia also appeared in nine games with Lowell of the American Hockey League in 2002-03.

"Anthony brings a lot of familiarity to our fan base," Walby stated. "He had a decent year last year, and definitely wants to improve his offensive production this season. He's glad to be back on the coast and can't wait to put on a Sea Wolves jersey again. We're looking forward to having both Lisabeth and Battaglia back and for both of them to make big contributions to the team this season."

The Sea Wolves open the 2008-09 home schedule with a three-game set against the Charlotte Checkers on October 24, 25, and 26 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Season tickets and group packages are now on sale! Call 228.275.WOLF to reserve yours today!
