Dayton, OH -Dayton Bombers Head Coach Bill McDonald announced today the signing of goaltender Paul Drew for the 2008-09 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Drew enters his first professional season after playing four years at the University of Prince Edward Island (Canada). The Merlin, Ontario, native backstopped 95 games for PEI, collecting a career 3.66 GAA and .881 save percentage. He was twice named team MVP and was selected to the 2007 Atlantic Universities All-Star Team.

"It feels great to get to this point in my career after four years at the collegiate level and I'm anxious to get to Dayton and get the season started," Drew said. "I'm looking forward to having a shot at being the team's number one goalie. This is the highest point of my career, and I want to help take the team as far as I can."

Prior to his collegiate career the 5-foot-10-inch, 190-pound goalie spent four years with the OHL's Plymouth Whalers. There he went 73-35-16 with a cumulative 2.63 goals against average and .911 save percentage.

"Paul comes highly recommended from his coaches at PEI and Plymouth," said McDonald. "He has a lot of positive qualities as a goaltender and is an outstanding individual when it comes to attitude, character and leadership."
