TRASHERS WEEK IN REVIEW
FLAGS SAIL AT HALF MAST AS TRASHERS COME FROM BEHIND TO TOP PORT HURON
November 27, 2005
DANBURY, CT--Playing their fourth game in five nights, the Danbury Trashers waited until the very end before picking up their third straight win. After a subpar first two periods, the Trashers overcame a 1-0 Port Huron lead with two goals in the final five minutes of play to defeat the Flags 2-1 on Sunday night at the Danbury Ice Arena.
Port Huron scored their only goal on a penalty shot, as Blake Stewart was hooked by Drew Omicioli at the 15:30 mark of the first period. Stewart's goal was his second in as many nights as the shot rolled off of Jayme Platt's legpads and just beyond the goal line.
Following a scoreless second period, the Trashers fought hard in the third, first by killing off a full 2:00 5 on 3 Flags power play as Regan Kelly (Interference) and Carlyle Lewis (Roughing) both went to the box at the 1:28 mark. Platt made several outstanding saves which seemed to intensify the Trashers, who finally scored on the power play at the 15:11 mark of the third as Carlyle Lewis beat Scott Hay after a pass from Drew Omicioli.
Frantically trying to win the game in regulation, the Trashers crashed the net late, and Jeff Daw knocked in a rebound past Hay for his third goal of the season with just 10.7 seconds remaining to win the game. Regan Kelly and David Hymovitz assisted on the goals.
Platt stopped 25 of 26 shots for his first win as a Trasher, as Danbury improved their mark to 8-6-2 and their third straight win. Hay stopped 23 of 25 to suffer the loss. The Flags are now 7-8-2 this season.

It was a scoreless first period until Danbury went on the power play at the 16:00 mark of the first period as David Hymovitz netted the first of two Trashers goals to take a 1-0 lead. Just 15 seconds later the Trashers scored again as Drew Omicioli scored to give the Trashers a 2-0 lead.
Danbury scored twice again in quick succession in the second period as Mike Omicioli and Alex Goupil netted goals just 1:10 apart as the Trashers carried a 4-0 lead into the dressing room. Goupil scored unassisted early in the third as the Frostbite finally scored late on a goal by Hugo Belanger, his seventh of the season.

TRASHERS BOUNCE BACK IN RICHMOND WITH 3-1 WIN
November 25, 2005
RICHMOND, VA--Brad Wingfield scored just 25 seconds into the first period as the Danbury Trashers jumped out quickly, then held on for a 3-1 win on Friday night at the Richmond Coliseum.
Wingfield's goal was the only one through the first two periods as the next goal came on Mike Omicioli's third of the season on the power play at the 8:31 mark of the 3rd period. Richmond cut the game to 2-1 as Brian Goudie scored on the power play with 45 seconds left in the game and the RiverDogs utilizing an extra attacker and two Trashers in the box, giving Richmond a 6 on 3 advantage
Richmond coach Robbie Nichols was called for a bench minor for arguing with 30 seconds left. With the penalty, the Trashers were back at even strength and then scored as David Hymovitz beat Doug Groenstege with 10 seconds left in the game. Nichols then had to leave after he was given a 10-minute misconduct.
Sly Daigle stopped 21 of 22 shots as the Trashers even their record to 6-6-2. Richmond falls to 5-9-1 with the loss.
D'ALESSANDRO STANDS ON HEAD WITH 53 SAVES TO LEAD RICHMOND TO 4-1 WIN
November 23, 2005
DANBURY, CT--Mike D'Allesandro's 53 save effort led a Richmond squad that had just 17 shots to a 4-1 win over the Trashers on Wednesday night at the Danbury Ice Arena before a crowd of 2,117 fans.
Joey Bastien's first of the season opened the scoring at the 3:52 mark while Dennis Mullen added his first of the year at the 13:09 mark to give the RiverDogs a 2-0 lead after the first period.
Despite 21 first period shots, the lone Danbury highlights were a pair of fights between Jon Mirasty and Mike Wolf. Mirasty, despite giving seven inches and over 100 pounds to the larger Wolf fared very well, including shots that stunned Richmond's enforcer in each fight.
JJ Wrobel netted his 3rd of the season at the 3:48 of the second period on a dump in following a shot by Bastien for the only goal of the period.
Alex Goupil's 8th of the season gave Danbury their lone goal at the 4:09 mark, as he ripped a shot by D'Alessandro on a face-off pass from Jeff Daw.
Mike Olivera scored an empty netter late in the 3rd period, also assisted by Bastien.
Jayme Platt stopped just 13 of 16 shots as he fell to 0-1-1 on the season, while the Trashers are now 5-6-2. Richmond improved to 5-8-1 with the win.
