Training Camp Starts Monday

After a long and busy off season Bruce Ramsay is set to take the helm of the Tulsa Oilers as the team opens its training camp for its 18th Central Hockey League season. The Oilers will hit the ice at 8:15 Monday morning at the Oilers Ice Center (64th and Mingo).

"This is a deep camp with a lot of good players," Ramsay said. "There'll be some tough decisions to make."

Ramsay expects a group of 30 players to report for physicals which will take place Sunday. On ice work starts Monday morning.

The Oilers will practice Monday and Tuesday morning from 8:15-11:00. those sessions are free and open to the public. Tuesday night at 7 p.m. the Oilers will hold an intra squad game at the Oilers Ice Center. Former Oilers Tom Karalis and Doug Pirnak will coach the teams behind the benches, while Ramsay observes from the stands. The intrasquad game is free to Oiler season ticket holders. Admission for non season ticket holders is $10.

On Wednesday, it's off to Odessa for exhibition games October 8 and October 10. The following week, the Oilers will practice at 9:30 a.m.

Sat. Oct. 10 Exhibition game at Odessa 7:05 p.m.

Mon. Oct. 12 Practice 9:30 a.m.

Tue. Oct. 13 Practice 9:30 a.m.

Wed. Oct. 14 Practice 9:30 a.m.

Thu. Oct. 15 Practice 9:30 a.m. Depart for Mississippi

The Oilers start the CHL regular season on Friday October 16th at Mississippi. The home opener for the Oilers in their 18th CHL season will be Saturday October 24th at 7:35 against the Wichita Thunder. Season tickets for the Oilers 2009-10 season in the BOK Center are available by calling the Oilers at (918) 632-PUCK (7825).
