LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced that they have signed forwards Lance Monych, Evan Schwabe and defenseman Nick Williams for the 2009-10 season. The Bucks now have the maximum of 30 players on their training camp roster.
*MONYCH PLAYED THREE GAMES FOR BUCKS IN 05-06*
25-year-old Lance Monych (pronouned MON-atch) was drafted in the fourth round (# 97 overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry draft by the Phoenix Coyotes, and enters his fifth professional season. Monych scored four goals in just three games for the Bucks during the 2005-06 season before being called up to the AHL with San Antonio.
"Lance has the ability to score in bunches," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He was here in 2005-06 and scored four goals in three games, of course I want him back here."
Monych, 6'2, 205 pounds, has played in a total of 208 professional games, scoring 106 points (63-43=106).
The Winnipeg, Manitoba native spent last season in Holland (non-professional) with the Tilburg Trappers, where he put up 92 points (40-52=92) in just 26 games.

In 2006-07 Monyach had 29 points (16-13=29) in 65 games with Phoenix (ECHL), while in 2005-06 he put up 21 points (11-10=21) in 26 games.
Monyach played in 37 AHL games with San Antonio in 2005-06, picking up 16 PIM's.
Monyach played in 316 career junior games with the Brandon Wheat Kings scoring 236 points.
*SCHWABE BRINGS SCORING TOUCH*
27-year-old Evan Schwabe travels back to North America this season, having spent the last two years playing overseas.
The 5'9, 175 pound Schwabe (pronounced (SHH-wab) spent the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons in the ECHL, where he put up a total of 123 points (43-80=123) in 129 games.
"I've heard a lot of positive things about Evan, he can score, he can pass, and he quick," Ruskowski said. "He could put up good numbers for us."
Last season Schwabe played for Aalborg AAB in Denmark scoring 34 points (12-22=34) in 35 games.
In 2007-08 the Moose Jaw native scored 26 points (11-15=26) in 56 games for the Pelicans in the FNL league.
Schwabe had his best professional season in 2006-07 when he scored 67 points (20-47=67) in 68 games for South Carolina (ECHL). In 2005-06 Schwabe put up 56 points (23-33=56) for the Stingrays in 60 games.
Schwabe had a very successful four-year college career for the University of Minnesota-Duluth (NCAA D-I), where he put up a total of 126 points (51-75=126) in 160 games. Monych helped lead the Bulldogs to the 2004 NCAA Frozen Four in Boston, where they would fall to Denver.
*ROOKIE WILLIAMS HEADS TO LAREDO*
22-year-old defenseman Nick Williams enters his first professional season after having spent last year with the Battle Creek Revolution (AAHA). Williams put up 20 points (3-17=20) in 35 games last season, to go along with 60 PIM's. In seven playoff games last season Williams scored five points (1-4=5).
"Nick's a young, talented defenseman who could be tough for us," Ruskowski said. "Let's see what he can do."
The 6'1, 200-pound Williams played 10 games for Robert Morris during the 2007-08 campaign, scoring three points (0-3=3) and picking up 14 PIM's. In 2006-07 the Davison, Michigan native put up 22 points (3-19=22) in 39 games with the Flint Junior Generals (CSHL).
