
College Players Give Oilers Depth

Bruce Ramsay has shown he is a solid recruiter of pro hockey talent in his successful coaching career, and his recruiting class for his first training camp with the Tulsa Oilers shows he knows where to find the up and coming players as well.
Ramsay has a packed camp as the Oilers prepare for their 18th Central Hockey League season. He has recruited players from all over North America., including some of the top college and junior hockey programs.
Maine has become a traditional college powerhouse and the Black Bears captain Jeff Marshall will bring his team leadership experience to Tulsa.
Dave Krisky will come to camp after four full seasons at Western Michigan University. He played 81 games over his four year college career.
At 21 years old, Adam McAllister will bring a mixture of youthful enthusiasm combined with scoring and toughness. He averaged more than a point a game in his four year career in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. He also had 160 penalty minutes one season, 130 PIM twice and 93 penalty minutes his final year.
The St. Scholastica Saints loss can be the Oilers gain. A.J. Tucker their leading scorer all four years he was there is headed to the Oilers training camp. Tucker had 50 goals and 69 assists for 119 points in his 111 games for the Minnesota based college.
Any player who comes from Colgate will be smart both on and off the ice and that's the case for left wing Peter Bogdanich who played four years racking up 19 goals and 38 assists for 57 points in 132 career games.
Dustin Hughes played college hockey on both sides of the 49th parallel. The playmaking center played 77 games between Quinnipiac and the University of Manitoba. He racked up 13 goals and 60 assists 73 points in college before embarking on a pro career that has seen him play in Richmond in the Southern Professional Hockey League and in Germany.
The Oilers begin training camp on Monday October 5th. They will have an intra squad game on Tuesday October 6th at the Oilers Ice Center (64th and Mingo) at 7 p.m. That game will be free to season ticket holders and $10 for non season ticket holders.
The Oilers start the CHL regular season on Friday October 16th at Mississippi. The home opener for the Oilers in their 18th CHL season will be Saturday October 24th at 7:35 against the Wichita Thunder.
